Install Windows 10 in Virtualbox : Microsoft announced the next version of its Windows operating system, to everyone's surprise, it is not Windows 9x, but Windows 10 . And just the day after the announcement, a first trial (the so-called Technical Preview ) and was available for download.

It is a trial version, we know, and it is by no means the final operating system that should will use for our everyday tasks.

If you also want to try it risk-free for your current Windows installation (or if, like me, you use another operating system), here's it is easy and safe way  do it: by install in a virtual machine . Let's see how to install Windows 10 on

VirtualBox .

1. First of all, we need to make sure we have everything we need : the VirtualBox client  (which lets you create a virtual computer within) and ISO Technical  Preview of Windows 10 file , you can download in English, UK English simplified . To download you must sign in with your Windows Live user in Windows Insider Program .

2. Do you already have VirtualBox installed and you downloaded the ISO file of  Windows 10? let's start: start VirtualBox and click  button New to create a new virtual machine. Give it a name, select the type ("Windows") operating system version (32 or 64 bits) and assign RAM (at least 1GB).

3. On the menu of HDD ( Hard drive ), select the option to create a new one. A new window where you can choose the folder where to save, size (open at least 16 GB ),type ( VDI ) and storage ( Dynamically Allocated ).

4. We have the virtual machine created, but there are two small adjustments by touch: first, select the newly created Windows 10 machine and click the button Settings . Then select the menu  System , and the field Boot order , move the CD / DVD to be the first in the boot order.

5. The other adjustment is made ​​to Settings> Storage . Select the driver for the CD ( Controller: IDE ) and click on the CD icon. A menu where you can choose the ISO file of Windows 10 have downloaded will open. Click OK to save all these changes - needed to start the installation to start the virtual machine for the first time.

6. Finally, it is time: click the green arrow button ( Start ) to start your virtual machine of Windows 10 will begin installing the operating system..

After a few minutes  perhaps expect occasional reboot, you'll finally have a first version of Windows 10 on your computer, ready to use - without any effect on your current operating system.

Please note: when shut down Windows 10 virtual machine in VirtualBox, do not forget to remove the ISO file from the CD . Otherwise, when you start the system again, it will boot from CD and start the installation again. You only have to go back to the same menu item 5 ( Settings> Storage ), click

 the CD icon and choose the "option remove from virtual disk drive ".
